Vale' Paul Ryan

21 Jul 2023 by Rodney Moran

We extend our deepest condolences to the Ryan family following the recent sudden passing of Paul.

Following his father John (dec) and mother Maureen footsteps, he continued the family dynasty at Therry with all 7 children pulling on the maroon, gold and blue jumper. Remarkedly five are still playing (Lucas, Darcy, Matilda, Dylan and Ella) with Ben and Hannah (premiership co- captain) recently retiring. Our sincere sympathy to Maureen and all the children along with brothers and sisters Julie, Steven, Chris, Carolyn, Phil and Leonie during these sad times.

Paul has a long history in volunteering for community sport and was an instrumental committee member (Treasurer) at St Francis FC for many years. He was a key figure in establishing the Oak Park Saints Basketball Club and the areas first ever Youth Girls football side at St Francis. He was certainly proud of all his children’s achievements and loved nothing better than getting down to JP to watch them and all the Ryan cousin’s play for Therry.

RIP Paul!

A service to celebrate Paul’s life will be held at St Francis De Sales Catholic Church on Thursday 27th of July at 11.00am. Following the service a wake will take place at Northern Golf Club in Glenroy.
