A Massive Thank you!!

The refurbishment works at JP Fawkner are officially done!

With a couple of final kitchen items completed in the past week, Moreland council has ticked off the project. As the progress photos over the past 6 months or so have shown the works were significant and we believe they have created a better functioning and much more comfortable environment for all our members and visitors to enjoy when they come to JP Fawkner. If only we could use them!

The Refurbishment Project (kitchen, female and male toilets, timekeeper/scorer room, social and players room) was undertaken in various stages in partnership between the football and cricket club along with Moreland Council following receipt of a $40k Capital grant a few years back. All up the cost of the refurbishments was circa $140k which doesn’t include the amazing in-kind contributions by various members and some donated products (combined value of $50k). Not sure how many other volunteer sporting clubs would deliver such a project predominately funded and managed by them. Hopefully, our commitment to improving community infrastructure doesn’t go unnoticed.

The works were pulled together by a number of people and it’s not possible to thank everyone that had some involvement as the list is extensive. You know who you are and a big thanks to you for the help provided. It certainly wasn’t unnoticed.

There are some people though that we need to acknowledge and sincere apologies if anyone has been forgotten. Certainly not intended!
