COACHING: Rioli steps down

20 Sep 2018 by Damien Ractliffe

Hello members,

After taking our club back into finals, coach Dean Rioli has decided to step away from the role in 2019 due to personal reasons.
Dean brought great professionalism and a holistic approach to the football club and our players thrived under his coaching.
Our one-point elimination final defeat made Dean’s decision even tougher, with the strong belief our senior team can go even better in 2019, but personal circumstances have led to Dean stepping down.
“I have had a tough time wrestling with the pro’s and con’s of continuing the coaching role but in the end it is the best decision for me at this point in my life,” Rioli said.
“I had an amazing time this season with the whole football club and getting to know the Therry people.
“This was by far my most enjoyable season as coach in 12 years of coaching.”
Dean has offered the club assistance in helping us find his successor.
Our club thanks Dean for his tenure and will be taking applications for senior, reserves, thirds, under-19s and senior women coaching positions.
